It is with a bit of disappointment that I announce to all of the players of RockTycoon that I have sold the game to a private buyer. He took over the game and all of the files, etc. around the middle of July and he will continue all further developments of the game and anything dealing with it. I do not plan to drop out of the browser-based game world, but I feel that I did as much as I possibly could in growing RockTycoon to the popularity that it achieved, and the new owner, Paul Weston, should be able to pick up the slack where I left off.

I encourage all of you to stick it out with Paul and help him in any way he needs as he gets accustomed to the game and the administration side of things. Please keep an eye on my website here for any updates on future projects I will be starting. I plan to pick up development on StreetTycoon, a new browser-based MMO game that I started about a year ago, and would love to be able to finish the project.

Aww geez! I just spent an hour looking for the URL to start back up, (MisTaken Road), and then I saw this and the domain for Rock Tycoon is dead. Such a waste of potential that Paul didn't take it further. Ricky, you did a fantastic job and you were there to fill the void that I had when Music Maven 3 ended.

If only you could take the MM3/Rock Tycoon experience mobile, maybe an iOS app is in order! Develop it using HTML 5 or something.

I'm currently in the process of developing a new music MMO called Band Maven. You can follow the progress at http://bandmaven.com. I agree with what you said, RockTycoon was just wasted. Although I'm quite saddened that RockTycoon closed down, it was almost a blessing in disguise to get rid of it. With the way I programmed it, it was insanely hard to issue out quick bug fixes without jumping through hoops. Band Maven is going to be much more solid and secure on the back-end, and quite a bit more polished on the front-end. And yes, a mobile version will be in the works once I get the main Band Maven game released to the public. ;)

Unfortunately, I know all too well that he's done nothing. I didn't want RockTycoon to end up the way it did, and the fact that he purchased the game and then did nothing to keep it running saddens me. I am currently working on a brand new project (although it isn't music based, it's going to be a blast) and hopefully some of the RockTycoon guys will float over to the new game so that I can reconnect with some old friends! :)
